Drone Head 25mm + Blueprints — DIY BY BRAS

The Drone Head 25mm is a sound-producing head designed for the DIY BY BRAS system.

Included: Detailed blueprints and instructions for hole placement, assembly, and tuning, providing everything needed to build complete instruments and explore your own ideas using standard 25mm PVC pipe.

This head is a custom hybrid design combining elements of the Native American-style flute and the drone flute of the Satara, a traditional instrument from Rajasthan. It has been specifically developed for 3D printing and modular construction.

It is designed to complement the Lead Head 25mm within the Modular Flute BY BRAS system. Producing a stable, airy drone with low air consumption and a more subdued timbre, it allows the melodic voice of the Lead Head to remain clearly in the foreground while keeping multiple flute configurations comfortable and efficient to play, even in double, triple, and modular setups.

IMPORTANT:
The actual diameter of 25mm PVC pipes can vary slightly depending on manufacturer and production batch. To ensure compatibility with the widest range of pipes, DIY BY BRAS parts are designed slightly oversized. While our finished instruments are individually adjusted to match our current pipe stock, DIY parts must remain adaptable to many different pipe sources. For optimal performance, an airtight seal is required. Simply wrap transparent adhesive tape around the pipe to create a custom-fit seal before inserting it into the printed part.
